Heavy rain continues to lash Kerala, with authorities issuing warnings for several districts

A holiday has been declared for educational institutions today in the Wayanad and Kozhikode districts, where a yellow alert has been issued.

Kerala is likely to experience heavy rain and strong winds. A yellow alert has been declared in eleven districts: Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod. A rain warning remains in effect for tomorrow as well, with a yellow alert issued for five districts: Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod.

A holiday has been declared for educational institutions today in the Wayanad and Kozhikode districts, where a yellow alert has been issued. This applies to Anganwadis, religious study centres, tuition centres, and professional colleges, among others. However, the holiday does not apply to residential schools.

The District Collector announced that the closure of schools functioning as relief camps in Wayanad will continue beyond Wednesday until further notice. Meanwhile rescue operations are going in the landslide area of Wayand.
